When I was commissioned to paint this miniature I wasn't too thrilled
- the pictures of the studio paint-job were quite poor and the paint
work itself didn't appear to be up to the usual high standards of the
PP studio. This led me to believe that the sculpt was uninspiring which
thankfully couldn't be further from the truth. The face is finely detailed
and very feminine, the armour is intricate and well designed and the
pose and proportions are spot-on.
The customer wanted a similar colour scheme to the studio job but I
didn't want to use metallics so instead I went for a shiny metal look
to the armour using the nmm technique. This was time consuming due to
the intricacy of the armour but I think it was probably worth the effort.
I wanted to keep it all simple so I also used blue for the cape and
the only other colours used were various browns to make up the gold
and a darker brown for the vest and base.
All up a great little sculpt which I think turned out pretty well. |
