I regularly buy 2nd hand painted miniatures from both eBay and my local gaming shop. These miniatures are generally painted to a basic level and are in pretty poor shape from years of use. I decided that it might be fun to put them to use and feature them in a 'before and after' section. In this section I'll take one such miniature every month (or so), strip it and then repaint it, hopefully giving it a new lease of life. Once the miniatures have been finished they'll be sold off to fund more miniature purchases so if you see something you like let me know... ;o) |

It's been a while since I bothered with this section but when I saw
this miniature at my local hobby shop for a few bucks I knew it'd
be a good candidate for the before and after treatment. I can only dedicate small amounts of time every now and then to this so I'll document the progress as I go along... I stripped the miniature (it's great when people don't bother with primer) and started on the painting... In my opinion he looks a little pissed off (maybe about spilling his ale) so I decided to make him look like he's about to explode into a mad fury, I thought the best way to convey this was by using a lot of red in the face. Here's the first step, you can be the judge as to whether or not it works... |
