I had decided that I would never paint another Stern again (at the time I thought three was probably enough) but then I was asked to convert and paint another. I wasn't terribly keen at first but taking the conversion into consideration I decided that it would be different enough to not get tedious.

The changes aren't too dramatic but I think they work well. I was never too sure about the sword-arm positioning on the original figure so I was happy to hack the old arm off and replace it with one from a GK terminator. I think the change gives the miniature a feeling of movement - the original is a little static looking. The other changes are the addition of a sculpted laurel wreath to the head and exchanging the stormbolter for a psycannon.
