Earlier this year I was commissioned to paint an Emperor's Champion similarly to Jason Richard's version. I wasn't too keen on the idea at first - painting yet another miniature utilizing the SE-NMM technique didn't really inspire me but I was a big fan of Diarmaid Warren's howling banshee so I thought I'd give it a shot.

I must admit - the technique is still fun to use, watching the optical illusion gradually become obvious is pretty nifty. I'm particularly happy with the left leg and the back pack, I think it's probably the most effective SE-NMM I've achieved to date.
