the executioner

This figure was pointed out to me a while back and I was a little miffed at the time thinking I'd never get the chance to paint it as it was a Ltd. Ed. figure available only through Starplayer in France. Lucky for me a customer ordered a large lot from Starplayer and received this as a gift/incentive, he then passed it on to me.

This figure once again lives up to Rackham's high standards, I personally love the sculpt and the casting was impeccable.
After cleaning the mini I sculpted individual stones for the base and stuck them down (in retrospect maybe not the best method). the painting was fairly standard however the outfit was initially meant to be red however I accidently came up with the faded colouration which seemed appropriate. The one thing I'm not thrilled about is the gold on the axe head, I think that I'll need to work on my NMM technique a fair bit more. Finally the blood was just Reaper PP's 'blood red' mixed with PVA glue to a thickish consistency then painted on the blade and clothing and drizzled into the gaps between paving stones.
