Minotaur
As far as I know this is one of Rackham's earlier figures but it's easily one of the nicest minotaur miniatures I've seen and it still stacks up pretty well against their latest sculpts...
I got a little sick of painting chrome so I thought I try and dirty up the metal on this miniature... The blades are a much darker grey than I'd normally use and I've tried to gunk them up with some dark red (dried blood) and some dirty rusty colours... On the copper parts I've tried out a verdigris effect for the 1st time (I had to have a go after seeing how successfully Eric (Elouchard) has been utillising it). The verdigris on the hooves was painted using a different technique than on the blades and I think it's a little more successful.
I have to say that painting stains and dirt and blood on parts of the miniature is lots of fun... I always used to be scared of dirtying up part of a miniaure after having spent so long blending it but I enjoy doing it and the final product is a lot more 'realistic'.
