I vaguely recall that this miniature received a lot of criticism when it was released because it deviated too far from the original concept drawing... I actually think the sculptor pulled it off pretty well, nothing I could really criticise other than the writing being sculpted in the scroll but that's just a personal opinion...

I tried to tone down the colours which I used for this guy as I feel that many of my paint jobs inadvertently turn out too bright... I did this by 'muddying' colours with the addition brown, not enough to change the colour too much, just enough to take the edge off of the brightness... I also continued using the matte medium to facillitate smoother layering, I'm still getting the hang of the product but it still seems like a winner...
